Yellowstone in the winter is pure magic. It is so peaceful with the snow falling and the animals wandering almost in slow motion. I had dreamed of getting a photo of a bison covered in snow....got that within the first hour. Traveling by snow coach allowed us to warm up when we needed to as temperatures were in the teens. Jeff Galinovsky and Paul Anderson were excellent pro photographers guiding us to the right compositions, settings and other tips to make sure we were all successful in getting just the right photos. The snow coach drivers provided historical background....and one of them who was also a photographer knew exacly where to take us to get some stunning landscapes. Seeing a wolf pack was memorable indeed. Then there is Sweeney, our driver to Yellowstone from Bozeman and back. His Wild Bill Hickock persona was wonderful. And Virginia City was the perfect place to photograph him. Wonderful group of fellow photographers as always on McKay trips. I would recommend going to Yellowstone in winter. It was simply stunning

Absolutely fantastic photography tour with Jeff and Paul! They made camera settings easy to understand and gave incredibly helpful composition tips that immediately improved my photos. They were patient, encouraging, and made sure everyone felt supported the entire time. I learned so much and had a wonderful experience — highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What an amazing tour! It was a surprise every day. Japan is such a unique country with beautiful people, architecture, scenery as well as wildlife. As we were the first tour, there were some learnings along the way. But in general, everything went really well. Sending the luggage on ahead was a brilliant plan. The hotels were charming and well located. Opportunities to have unique experiences were everywhere. The local guides in Kyoto and Hokkaido were superior. The history of Japan was fascinating to learn about. And having Saki dress up as a Maiko was a wonderful surprise. Freddie was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of Hokkaido was clearly evident. And he truly enjoyed being able to show us around and to find amazing opportunities to photograph incredible wildlife. This was a great group to travel with. David and Ally were incredibly helpful with our photography settings and suggested compositions. I loved going out with David in Takyama in the evening with just me and Janine. It was like having a private master class in nighttime street photography. That kind of attention keeps me coming back on McKay tours.

Amazingly, our flight ended up leaving in the midst of a snowstorm. All went well with only a slight delay. Thank you to McKay for coordinating this leg of the trip....the whole trip was beyond amazing, especially Hokkaido

"Master Camera Pt.1 was a knowledgable experience other students were kind and Dave was very patient with all. I'd Like to take a more advanced class. The following are just suggestions / observations > I would suggest the following so that all students directly benefit from the class. Canon | Nikon | Pentax, etc.. As a former corporate Apple Trainer, the buffering between manufacturers setting differentials 1. Design classes around Camera brand/function -Too much time going back and forth! 2. Prior to class - Pre-Assign homework of one "defining" photo each of the use in the 3-main settings. Then discuss in class - This would allow you the instructor, to see the caliber of students. 3. I hate to say this, but your book is not a "How To", but more a "What About". Additionally, there are no page numbers that are referenced in the index! 4. Marketing (POP/POS)... Should of had Pt.2 class signups there that night. I would suggest creating a 1/2 day weekend class for Pt.2.. did'nt see it on your website. 5. Have you ever considered a pocket version of your book.
